Quiet, intelligent, thoughtful, talented in his carpentry, his ability to fix, repair, build….but I’m not sure how many are aware of what a great cook and baker he was in his personal life and during his military service.
I remember as a child him baking and creating many a wedding cake for someone he knew, friends, family, and those who knew who knew the family. He helped make many wonderful memories for weddings especially when someone may not have been able to afford a beautiful wedding cake otherwise.
As my brother he was the one who took me to get my ears pierced and bought me my first pair of earrings . My first pair of ice skates for Christmas. I remember him as kind, thoughtful and caring. I remember the picnics, the cookouts, his cars…the memories are endless.

I seriously doubt there wasn't a thing Al Parent couldn't build, repair or make better. We met Al years ago through a neighbor when Al was doing a home repair of some kind. He was highly recommended and as soon as possible Al came and did work for us. Over the years he did many, many repairs, upgrades and rebuilds. We got to know Al quite well and he, us and in no time he was part of the family. I very much appreciated that when my mother moved from Milbridge to Brewer, like us, she could depend on Al. He took good care of her and my sister and they, like us adopted him. Some of the nicest memories I have are of fixing Al lunch and having lovely chats while eating together. His sense of humor and timing were unexpected and his wit dry like fine wine.
Ron, Natalie and I miss Al. Our condolences to you all.
