Alfonso's obituary
Born in Chicago's Southside, into a large family. He was the Second Son of eight boys and one sister, to Joseph and Conception.
As a student in Harrison High School Tech, two Navy men came to his class room. They asked the boys and girls to design an aircraft for them. Everyone submitted their design, and Al's design was chosen, which he called the "Pogo", an airplane that can take off straight up off the ground into the air. At the same time, he studied art and photography at the Jane Addams Hull House. His hobbies were art, photography, kite building and model aircraft building. In 1945 at 18 years of age he joined the "Army Air Corps" and Honorably Discharged in 1948. In 1954 he married and divorced in 1977, and joined "Parents without Partners" as the activities director.
He is survived by his daughters Tina Sanchez and Linda Kistinger, his brothers: Richard (Sue), Steve (Diane) and Ramon (Gwen). Preceded in death by his brothers: Robert† (Betty†), Lawrence† (Trudy), Joseph Jr.† (Jennie), George† (Mary) and his sister Marcella†.
Interment: Mt. Carmel Cemetery
