I met Alex in 2nd grade, 1967 at Sacred Heart in Boulder and had a lot of good times with him. Growing up he was usually the smartest kid in the class, and if not academically, common sense-wise for sure. Very opinionated, someone who knew right from wrong and fought for common sense justice. Would have made a good judge.

I'll never forget the camping trip we took when we were 13 and his mom drove us up to Indian Peaks and dropped us off. We hiked into Isabelle lake and camped. - nearly starved that weekend because all our meals were planned around fish that neither of us caught until Alex hauled a big one in on the last day. We finally ate after cooking that fish on a Sterno stove. I think it was mostly raw. Sheesh!

Hundreds of memories growing up with him.

We were good friends in high school and got into all kinds of trouble which was actually great fun. It's amazing either of us and our friends ever made it out of Boulder alive. I could write a book about it.

He was one of the best athletes I ever knew, a great gymnast and baseball player. A natural leader indeed. Lived with him a few times and were close until we married off and went our separate ways.

Alex, you were a class act! Rest in peace.

Alex and his family were neighbors of ours in Table Mesa in the 60
we were just kids, but alex was so solid, even then. an honest, caring friend, a true friend. he’d call you on your bullshit but do it from a place of love and integrity. we grew up together (he was a great listener, gave sensible advice, did his best to make a fisherman out of me and was an absolute stud on a baseball diamond, a natural leader.) he and his family always welcomed me with grace and i’ve always had high regard and appreciation for them. for a time, alex really was like a brother to me. we grew apart over the years but you never stop loving a brother like that. his passing is a loss for everyone who knew him. i’m saddened for sure, but i’m also grateful as hell for every moment i got to spend with him, and richer for having known him. rest in peace, alex.

I first met Alex around 2005. I worked with him at Westwood College. Alex was the best dang programmer out there, and he would always get things done. He was always open and straight forward with everyone, Alex did not turn off and on different people in different company. He was always Alex. Although, he could be a little gruff on the outside, to me he was a big-hearted man that would do anything for you. This was true even if it might get him in a little trouble with his bosses. He hated all the bureaucracies that went with parts for his job.

For the next 17 years our friendship grew. He always had my back. I would go to him with both business issues and when I needed someone to listen when I had personal issues. It was funny because he never really did the same. I am not the good listener he was, it was probably because he wasn’t a whiner like I am.

He and I loved our Santiago’s Breakfast Burritos, Pho, and Mongolian BBQ. We hit places all over Denver. We had so much fun.

When he moved to Florida there was a special twinkle in his eye, he was ready to live his dream. My son Van, him, and I did a ton of fishing, but not a lot of catching. LOL. My son thought the world of him and he Van.

I will miss you dearly my friend.

RIP Alex.
