Alex was one of my better friends growing up. He lived across the street and we hung out constantly. I'd watch for his yellow Branco to come buzzing through the neighborhood and knew he'd be walking over to hangout. He never knocked when he came in my house and usually stayed for family dinner.  We spend weekend nights on Mimi's dock, swinging in Barbee park and bon fires parties in my back yard. He liked to play my dad's guitar and laugh about the crazy people we knew. I loved Alex like a brother and I am deeply saddened by his death.

I did not know Alex well, but he was a presence anywhere he went. I am so saddened by this news, and my deepest condolences go out to his children, wife and loved ones.

I’ll never forget that Alex was my first ever friend on Facebook. He brought it to Savannah for Armstrong students. Later we hung out in the same friend group of downtowners. He was always the life of the party.  I’m so sorry the world has lost a good soul. My condolences to his family.

Some of my most favorite childhood memories are spending summers at the Barbee dock, especially July 4th. Alex was always up for an adventure! Whether it was water skiing or jumping off the top of the dock during high tide, he was ready to have fun, make fun, and involve all of his cousins into his shenanigans! I really looked up to him, not just literally.

Victoria, I hope you know how happy we are that he found you, that he found true love in his life with an absolutely amazing human, doctor, wife, mother, friend, and more. My mom completely adored you and always sang your praises. I wish I could do more to help you during such difficult times.

🩷 So sorry for your loss , the whitmore’s
Barbee Family, I'm so sorry to hear about Alex's passing. Alex and I worked together in marketing. He was one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of working with. He would always rub it in that he was in Disney and I wasn't. Thoughts and prayers for you all.
I can't believe that I am the one here writing this, and it is painful. If you'd have asked either of us who'd be the one to be in this position we'd both agreed it would have been you writing condolences for me. I thank you for always believing in me and being a good person not only to me, but to everyone you encountered.  I'm sure Dock is glad to see you. My heart goes out to your family in their time of need. I wish we could have had more time, brother.
Alex was one of the first people I met at Armstrong. He was funny and kind and introduced me to so many life long friends. He knew how to bring people together. That's what I remember best about him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
I am so sorry to hear of Alex's passing. He and I worked together professionally and I had a high regard for him. He was a wonderful person who I know loved his wife and children with his whole heart. He will be missed.
