On July 9th, 2020, Alex sings "You'll Be Back" from the musical "Hamilton" with his sister Luella. Hamilton was perhaps the first musical that Alex really got into. He grew to love musicals, singing, and acting.
We will always remember Alex as such a kind and talented young man, bright and funny… a great brother and a great kid. We were so lucky to know him, to see him grow up, to watch him sing and act. He took such a genuine interest in the world, in culture and in science. To us, he was unfailingly polite and sweet, welcoming and respectful… just a wonderful young person to be around. Both Lacey and I were so shaken by his loss, by the hole that will be left behind in his absence, but we are grateful, still, that we knew this remarkable child, and got to see the love he had for his family and the love they had for him. He will be missed and mourned and remembered with such fondness by so many people. We are fortunate to be amongst those whose lives he touched.

On a family trip, Alex took this silly, "senior photo"-style shot at Princess Arch while hiking with his mom, sister, and brother. Alex loved being out in nature. He would often remark that he loved the silence and calm of the forest.
