Alejo's obituary

Alejo Grango, of Bensenville, Illinois, passed away on November 10th at the age of 84. Alejo had a long and full life. He was a family man, and dedicated time to spend with loved ones both near and far. Alejo loved music and dancing; he truly brought the life to the party. He was an avid golfer and played in the Pan American Golf Association for years. Alejo was born on May 6, 1937, to Jose Grango and Margaret Grango in Galesburg, Illinois. Alejo is survived by his wife, Guadalupe, six children: Margarita, Isabel (William Traxler), Elvira, Annette, Carmen, and Alex (Lupe), five grandchildren: Jorge, Gabriela (Eric), Katalina, Julian (Victoria) and Valerie, six great grandchildren, and many Diaz nieces and nephews. He will be missed dearly by family and friends, but his memory will live on. Visitation will be held at Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home in Elmhurst (435 N York Street) on Thursday November 18th from 3 – 8 PM. Funeral services will begin with a procession on Friday November 19th at 9:15 AM from Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Des Plaines (794 Pearson St.) for 10:30 AM mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Tee Quad Cities or the Pilsen Neighbors Community Council in Alejo's memory.
