Big Al's obituary
It is with profound sorrow and deep love that we announce the passing of Al Stricklin — a man whose presence was larger than life, whose laughter could fill a room, and whose heart, despite everything, was tender and fiercely loyal.
Al had a sense of humor that was entirely his own. Quick-witted, a little mischievous, sometimes perfectly inappropriate — but always unforgettable. He could turn an ordinary moment into a story and break tension with perfectly timed sarcasm that somehow still felt like affection. If Al teased you, it meant you were his.
He was an extraordinarily talented tattoo artist. Tattooing was never just a job to him — it was art, therapy, and storytelling. With steady hands and a creative spirit, he transformed skin into meaning. He carried people’s memories, tributes, and turning points in his work, leaving behind art that will live on for generations.
Music was another language he spoke fluently. Whether he was playing, listening, or simply feeling the rhythm move through him, music was part of his soul. Certain songs will forever carry his spirit for those who knew and loved him.
Al also had a deep love for motorcycles. The open road brought him a sense of freedom that matched his wild, independent spirit. Riding wasn’t just a hobby — it was peace, adrenaline, brotherhood, and escape all at once. That roar of an engine and wind against his face was where he felt most alive.
Above all, Al loved deeply. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Adeline, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, challenges, laughter, and devotion. Their love was real, tested, enduring, and woven together over years that shaped them both. He is also survived by his sister, Penny, and his brother-in-law, Matthew, who will carry forward the stories and memories that keep him close.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Verna; his father, Albert; and his brother, Donald. We find comfort in believing there is a reunion beyond this life.
Al Stricklin leaves behind more than memories — he leaves behind laughter that still echoes, artwork etched into skin, music that stirs the heart, and miles of open road that will forever remind us of him.
He will always be remembered. He will always be missed. And he will always be loved.
