Alanson's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alanson "Al" Mitchell who peacefully departed this life on October 7, 2025. Alanson was born on July 2, 1942, a beacon of joy and inspiration in the lives of all who knew him.

Alanson is survived by his children Misty Mitchell-Petrus, Alanson Mitchell Jr., Deena Ewers, Richard Mitchell as well as bonus children Gary Wilson, Lisa Simmons, Betty Decker, Billie Lawson, Regina Harger, and Jason Evelyn.  He was predeceased by his daughter Nancy Mitchell. Alanson was also a proud grandfather and leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Devyn 'Lexi' Mitchell, Alyson 'Aly' Brandon, Tristan Mitchell, Ayla Martin, Holly Hawn, Sarah Ewers, and Bethany Felix, as well as a host of great-grandchildren.

Alanson was the son of the late Thomas Albert Mitchell Jr. and Edith Mitchell. He now rejoins his parents, his loving wife Evelyn 'Candi' Mitchell, his brothers Thomas Albert Mitchell III and Delmar Mitchell, and ex-wives Nora Beard-Mitchell and Frances Peach-Mitchell who preceded him in passing.

Known for his famous spaghetti, Alanson had a knack for turning simple ingredients into heavenly dishes. His love for life was evident in his passion for fishing and hunting. He found joy and peace in riding bicycles.

Alanson was a proud Navy veteran, having served beside his brother, Tom, on the USS Coral Sea.

A celebration of Alanson's life will take place on November 8, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at Space With Grace in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

His children would like to thank the Royal Holiday community in Hemet, California for being his second family, especially John Scopellite. They would additionally like to thank Hemet Global Hospital, and Devonshire Care Center for lovingly caring for him in his final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Central Arkansas, an organization close to Alanson's heart. Donations can be made at the following URL: https://everloved.com/life-of….

Alanson's memory will continue to live on through his family and in the hearts of those he touched. We take comfort in the knowledge that his spirit remains with us, guiding us from afar. His absence is a silent reminder of the love and camaraderie he shared with us all.
