Big brother, I am proud of the man you became and I am especially proud of your journey getting there with Janet. I remember fondly playing 30 and over baseball with you, the Johnson brothers on the same team again!! I am going to miss your Oyster butter soup, fresh mashed potatoes, locally sourced Oysters, and the endless competitions. More importantly, I will miss you.
Janet- what a wonderful tribute to Lance. I enjoyed the time I got to meet him. You are a great example of a loving wife- all the care and love you showed him during his illness. Thinking of you and your family at this time.

Lance was my first cousin. When he and the family came to visit us in the Philippines I can remember him sitting in the cactus room watching Tagalog movies and laughing even though he could hardly understand a word!! Years later, Lance and his former wife and their two young children (Alan and Kristen) came out to California and we were able to visit for awhile. I can attest that Lance so loved kids. Lance had a gruff exterior but it was to cover his huge heart. He would go out of his way to help you. Lance was like the brother I never had—constantly teasing me, but Auntie Jeanne always assuring me if he didn't care he wouldn't bother. You will be missed Lance. No one can take your place. Love forever, Kyle
So sorry for everyone's lost, I went to High school with him. A real good guy back then. Did not know about his condition. I will praying that God welcomes him into heaven. And praying for all to be comforted.

Janet, what a beautiful tribute to Lance. You truly captured the essence of who he was, as anyone who loved him so deeply would. I am so very sorry for your loss but am so very happy you met each other and loved each other for those 18+ years. He adored you and his family. We are heartbroken but rest in knowing we will be with him and all our loved ones again. Sending our love and hugs...Michele, Shanna, Kinsey, and Preston DeBerry
Your words touched me and are such a beautiful tribute to Lance and made so many memories come flashing back. Some I laughed, some I cried but those memories will forever be in my heart. I can remember Lance wanting to have the sushi menu first any time we went to Joss's and how when we all walked in there regardless of how many times a week lol , the staff would just light up. He always took the time to chat with the staff members and they loved it. They just loved seeing him. I won't forget his and I debate over who made better oyster stew and how you were supposed to make it. He did not agree with my celery and onion version that is for sure lol Then there was the one year I wanted a mini Christmas Tree for my table and he looked everywhere and made sure I got one. Then there was the year he and Bill cut my blue spruce so much with the crooked trunk that it looked like a mini tree lol! He was one of the first people Bill and I met when we moved to Kent Island and I cant express in words how much I cared about him and how much I will miss him.
Haven't seen you in a few years old friend.
Rest in peace.

Janet - What an amazing story about your husband and those he touched. He was sounded like a true battler who loved life and you . He will clearly be missed by those he touched. My family has been praying for you and your family for strength and support. God Bless. Jeff W
