Lovely Gillaspie Family,
How can God let Alan pass away so quickly? Why he? Couldn't he have been much more a blessing to many others through his continuos work? If God was and is able to do all those wonders and signs, why didn't he answer this prayer and heal Alan?
There are NO words to describe the loss. I am shocked, we are shocked. Sorry I went all silent lately. I am so sorry. I admire how you dealt and deal with this all. Our conversation walking down from Stockhorn mountain is on my mind, Rachel.
We don't understand Gods ways - that's why it involves trust: Trust that Romans 8:28 still is a promise today. It's my favorite bible verse and I want to give it to you today. May HE give you the strength to carry on. We love ya'll!! With tears in my eyes a deep hug from Switzerland.

Sorry to hear of Alan’s passing. My condolences to his family and friends. Lots of good times together in school (I graduated with Alan) and in the neighborhood. I lived a block away growing up. R.I.P. Alan

I am so sorry to hear of Alan's passing. I have so many priceless memories of Alan from band and school over the years. He was a great friend to so many and always made everyone smile and laugh. Sending my sincere condolences to the Gillaspie family.
I am so very sorry to hear this! Alan was a friend in High school that everyone liked and admired. He truly was a friend to all !! His obituary was a wonderful tribute. My deepest sympathies
I’m so very sorry to learn of Alan’s passing. I have so many fun high school memories with Alan as our drum major and as a friend. His dad taught me to play trombone (and I still love to play). Sending my sincere condolences to the Gillaspie family. ❤️
I'm so sorry for your loss! Reading of Alan's adventures reminded me of when he got his motorcycle permit. I'm sure he had gone to all of our other friends' houses first, but nobody was home! He was so excited to be on his first solo trip on a borrowed bike he roared into my driveway and ran up to the door. He just HAD to tell someone! That smile could light up a room! He'll be missed!

Condolences to the family. Alan was one of the main reasons I wanted to be drum major for Dover and have many fond memories through band. I had the great pleasure of seeing him dot the “I”. A memory that will forever be cherished. He will be missed by many.
Knew Alan as a youngster in Dover. Enjoyed his enthusiasm as a drum major at DHS and got to see him "dot the I" at OSU. Watched him w/pride as a devoted, loving husband, lovingly raising his two sons. Most important, seeing the Christian man he became, his unwavering faith in God, & the example he set for all who had the privilege of being part of his life. Heartbroken it ended way too soon ; such a loss but confident that he was welcomed into his eternal home & would want all of us to know that & look forward to joining him someday. Well done, Alan. Rachel, Caleb & Zach - continue your walk w/God. He knows your sorrow & will guide you through it. Love to the 3 of you.

My thoughts and prayers with you all. Alan was such a good friend in high school. I’ve got a lot of good memories of hanging out and him begging me to let him “throw me in the air like the cheerleaders” in Angels during our performances. May your memories bring you peace.
Melinda

I mourn Alan having to leave us. He was a man of God and shined brightly. Alan was a blazing force with everything he did. I know his light is shining as bright as the sun in Heaven. My love and support to Rachel and the boys. We love you!
