Personal note from Christina:

It is still hard to believe that my dad is not here with us. When 2020 began, we had no idea that within a month's time he would go from living a fairly normal, independent life... to being confined to a hospital bed and breathing through oxygen tubes... to seeing Jesus face to face. My mom and sister agree, however, that it was a privilege to have those last weeks with him, and a blessing that he did not suffer any longer than four weeks of breathing struggles. He made a peaceful transition into eternity, and we were able to be there by his side as he passed. The frequent communication with family and friends, the overwhelming responses to our FB posts and the personal visits with my dad in his last two weeks, and since, have been a balm to our souls. We also found the care of the staff at St. Mary's Medical Center, and VNA Hospice Center, to be compassionate and personal. God was our Shepherd through the dark valley, so we are trusting Him to guide us the rest of the way, even as He has taken my dad into his rest.
