Aimee's obituary
Aimee Camp (nee Silha), age 44, of Ladera Ranch, California passed away on January 31, 2023, surrounded by an unbreakable circle of love and light.
Aimee was born on July 10, 1978 in Denver, Colorado and lived most of her life in the Chicagoland area. She graduated from Illinois State University and was an early childhood teacher before she established a successful career in media technology sales.
Aimee met her husband Jay in Wrigleyville and they married four years later on 7/11 in 2008. Together, they built a family of three beautiful and unique daughters as well as a dog Henderson (whom Aimee considered a son).
Drawn by the sun and warmth of Southern California, Aimee and Jay made the bold move out West in August of 2021 to chase their dreams and start a new chapter in their lives
Aimee’s passions and joy were centered around family, home, faith, music, dance, travel, comedy, dining out, boating and being around water. She loved the Chicago Cubs, fresh flowers and deep friendships. She also had a keen sense of fashion, was a dog lover, an avid runner (completing two Chicago marathons), and a fierce advocate for children’s special needs.
Her adventurous spirit guided her to live a full, rich life that inspired others to do the same. She is remembered for her contagious smile, glowing blonde hair, strength, generosity, kindness, devotion, humor and willingness to be there for friends and family at all times.
Despite facing an incurable cancer diagnosis shortly after arriving in California, Aimee remained brave and determined to fulfill lifelong aspirations by creating amazing experiences and memories in her new home. She received an overwhelming amount of support from hundreds of loved ones near and far who rallied around her during her time of need.
Aimee is survived by her husband, Jay Camp, her three daughters Cailyn, Alyssa, and McKenna, mother Margie Silha, in-laws Paddy and Bill Seymour and her lifelong best friends Kim Clark and Tejal Berschinski as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who were truly blessed by knowing her.
A local Celebration of Life is being privately held. Memorial donations can be made to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation or Autism Speaks.
