Adrian's obituary
Adrian D. Coulter passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on April 15, 2023.
Adrian grew up in Maryville TN. Graduated Porter High School in 1958. Adrian was given a full Basketball scholarship to East Tennessee State University (E.T.S.U.). Graduated from E.T.S.U. with B.A. in Physical Education in 1962. After college Adrian enlisted as an Officer in the U.S. Army. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army Intelligence (Intel). Also, a Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1966.
In 1966 he applied to The Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.), and was accepted into training at Quantico VA. As a Special Agent served in the Austin Texas, San Jose Ca., and San Francisco Ca. field offices. In 1996 he retired as a Resident Agent in Charge (R.A.C.) from the San Francisco office. The Police Olympic games, Adrian represented the F.B.I. playing basketball and their team won many medals over the years.
Adrian worked very closely with the D.E.A., D.O.J., B.N.E. and various local Police Agencies. Adrian specialized in Organized Crime such as Italian and Russian Mafia, drug, and Jewelry smuggling and Kidnapping. Adrian had several high-profile Mafia and Kidnapping cases. After retirement he opened a very busy Private Investigative business, Patriot Investigative Group, San Jose.
Adrian was a man of honor and lived everyday with Integrity. Adrian loved to spend time with family and friends and he loved Tennessee, Lake Tahoe and Cabo San Lucas . Adrian love to travel the world to windsurf. He was affectionately known has “Big Guy” by his family and friends, but his close professional friends / colleagues called him “Ace.” Big Guy was a man of few words but, when he spoke everyone listened.
Adrian was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Martha S. Coulter, his sister Pat and Brother-in-law Gary Weaver. Adrian is survived by his daughter Sanna Torres (Nestor), his sister Carolyn Stancliff (Bud), his brother and sister-in-law Dr’s Nan and Bud Spalding, his grandchildren Briana and Bryson Barnette (Jackie), Enrique and Esteban Torres and, his caregiver/friend of almost 4 years, Annabelle Lucas, his 7 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces that he adored.
