Adoracion (Dory) Datu, 86, of Skokie, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026.

She was born in Manila, Philippines, to Inocencio and Victoria Gangcuangco. She came to the United States in 1966, where she built a life of service and dedication. Dory worked as a nurse for over 30 years, caring for others with kindness, strength, and deep compassion.

A woman of strong faith, she took pride in leading Bible study sessions and sharing her devotion with others. She loved music, dancing, and bringing people together. Her laughter and warmth touched everyone she met.

She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Vicente; her daughter, Dianne; her stepson, Eric (Virginia) and her great grandson, Ezra, Her niece, Joji Torres; her granddaughter, Joshlyn (Luis) Pena; and her great-granddaughter, Solenne.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday May 2nd at Simkins Funeral Home, 6251 Dempster Street, Morton Grove, Illinois. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.
