Adetha's obituary
Adetha “Gail” Byrum, born August 15, 1951, passed away at the age of 73.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Matalice Fagler Kelly; her father, Johnny Fagler; her stepmother, Sara B. Fagler; her daughter, Laura Gumm; her son-in-law, Mark Gumm; her sister, Carol Birchmire; and her brothers, Patrick James Kelly and Tim Kelly.
Gail is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Ana DiCorte, and her beloved grandchildren: Mariaisabel Caballero (Kydera Lindler), Tony DiCorte, Sean DiCorte, Ashtian Chavis, Abby Gumm, and Mollie Gumm. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Kamila.
Gail is also survived by her brother, Johnny Fagler, and his wife, Adrienne; her stepsister, Elaine Womack; and her nieces, Joni Roth, Sarah Owens, Brenda Dusang, and Jaclyn Mitchum, along with eight great-nieces and great-nephews.
Throughout her life, Gail dedicated herself to serving others. She was a cherished teacher of three-year-olds at Chapin Baptist Child Development Center, served as Activities Director at Eden Gardens, and coordinated volunteers for Meals on Wheels.
Gail’s life was a shining example of love, service, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
A small family service will be held privately.
