Adelfa Gabriela Ore was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She left us suddenly but peacefully on January 17, 2022 at age 77.

She was born to Jose Manuel (Chingue) and Rafaela (Fela) on June 27, 1944, in Santa Cruz del Sur, Cuba. From an early age, Adelfa had a passion for nature and a deep love of animals. After graduating from high school, she married her first husband and had her only son. Later, she pursued a career in teaching eventually shortened by the 1971 Freedom Flights that brought her family to America, where she worked tirelessly as a seamstress, making hand bags to umbrellas, working towards her life long dream of home ownership. She enjoyed entertaining, was an amazing salsa dancer and that's how she met her husband Alberto. Together, they had no children, but a little zoo to compensate.

Adelfa loved spending time in the kitchen, and made the best Paella and Pork chops ever, creating delicious meals for her family and friends. A life long reader and avid gardener, she relished her quiet time on a lawn chair in the comfort of a small garden among her many pets, which included dogs, cats, birds, chickens, stray racoons and once, even a Brazilian Capybara! The Neighbors loved listening to her colorful stories, and her "spirited" conversations with her life partner of over 30 years. 

Her presence will be sorely missed, she left an indelible mark on many with her kindness and modest nature. She is survived by her husband Atilano (Alberto) Gonzalez, her only son Pedro Andrés Rodriguez, and youngest brother Alejandro Cañete. 

A funeral mass service is scheduled for 11 am on February 25, 2022 at the Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please donate to animal charity listed on her behalf.

Adelfa Gabriela Ore fue una cariñosa esposa, madre, abuela y amiga. Nos dejó de repente pero en paz el 17 de enero de 2022 a los 77 años.

Ella nació de José Manuel (Chingue) y Rafaela (Fela) el 27 de junio de 1944, en Santa Cruz del Sur, Cuba. Desde temprana edad, Adelfa sintió pasión por la naturaleza y un profundo amor por los animales. Después de graduarse de la escuela secundaria, se casó con su primer marido y tuvo a su único hijo. Más tarde, siguió una carrera en la enseñanza eventualmente acortada por los Vuelos de la Libertad de 1971 que trajeron a su familia a Estados Unidos, donde trabajó incansablemente como costurera, haciendo bolsos de mano a paraguas, trabajando para lograr el sueño de su vida de tener una casa propia. Le gustaba entretener, era una increíble bailarina de salsa y así conoció a su esposo Alberto. Juntos, no tuvieron hijos, pero un pequeño zoológico para compensar.

Adelfa le encantaba pasar tiempo en la cocina e hizo las mejores paellas y chuletas de cerdo de todos los tiempos, creando deliciosas comidas para su familia y amigos. Lectora de toda la vida y ávida jardinera, disfrutó de su tiempo de tranquilidad en una silla en la comodidad de un pequeño jardín entre sus muchas mascotas, que incluían perros, gatos, pájaros, gallinas, mapaches callejeros y, una vez, ¡incluso un carpincho brasileño! A los vecinos les encantaba escuchar sus coloridas historias y sus conversaciones "animadas" con su compañero de vida durante más de 30 años.

Echaremos mucho de menos su presencia, dejó una huella indeleble en muchos con su amabilidad y naturaleza modesta. Le sobreviven su esposo Atilano (Alberto) González, su único hijo Pedro Andrés Rodríguez y su hermano menor Alejandro Cañete.

El funeral está programado para el 25 de febrero de 2022 a las 11 a. m. en la Iglesia de la Pequeña Flor en Coral Gables, Florida. En lugar de flores, haga una donación a la organización benéfica de animales que figura en su nombre.
