TRIBUTE TO MC. BIMBO EDWIN

In John 11:25, Jesus said and we believe: "I am the resurrection and the life. He (She) who believes in me will live, even though he (she) dies.

We may be mourning Mummy Edwin here on earth because we are humans. I know that right there above, the Host of Angels are rejoicing, welcoming home a daughter of The Most High God. A Saint has just gone Home. Halleluyah.

MC Edwin's faith in Jesus Christ is not a theoretical one (permit me to use present tense) . It is very practical and very unambiguously clear for everyone to see. Her family is also a role model. If a quarter of families in the world are like hers, the world would witness unprecedented peace, live and growth.

Your life, Mummy Bimbo Edwin, is (I do not want to use past tense, because you still live, just asleep) abundance of worship, service, philanthropy, praises, love, care, affection, humility, excellence, courage etc. You initiated and funded Breakfast with Christ, Co-established Bible Study and always an enthusiastic participant of it, of Women Fellowship, a member of the Choir and membership of many Committees of our Church etc. You are a solution provider, a witness of Jesus Christ in character & relationships, an encourager of depressed souls, a hope to the hopeless, etc

I know that as far as you are concerned, Mummy Edwin, "to live is Christ" and "to die is gain". What has happened is a fulfilment of the Gospel; your mortal body must necessarily give way to enable you wear the immortal body. You have fought the good fight of faith, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. Now there is in stock for you, the Crown of Righteousness which the Almighty Father, the Righteous Judge, will award to you. Oh Yes, death is a gain for a believer like you.

The lesson we are learning from your transition is that we must be prepared. That reminds me of the title of a sermon I listened to at Oyo, Nigeria about 4 years ago. Title was in Yoruba. " Ki n to di Ologbe". Translation in English is "Before I become Late" or simply stated, "Before I die"

The Question to me and you my reader is "what should I do now before it is my turn? Certainly, we shall all be on a journey similar to hers one day. This Final journey leads to EITHER of two different destinations - Heaven or Hell (Matthew 7:13-14) We can all testify that our Mummy Bimbo Edwin has gone to Heaven. HALLELUYAH. She was prepared because Jesus Christ had done a complete work of Salvation which she held on to. For you and I, ask "where shall I spend Eternity?" The journey starts from now. It is a personal decision to choose an option because no one knows when his Master will come. Choose now because tomorrow may be too late.

Sleep well Mummy Edwin, great woman of God till we meet in Eternity to part no more.

Your memory will last forever in our lives. We love you, but Christ loves you best.

God Almighty will console Daddy Edwin, a strong man of Faith too, console the Children, their Spouses, grand children and CCC JEP 1 CATHEDRAL.
"Odun yio jinna si ara won l'Oruko Jesu Kristi. Amin"

Aunty Bimbo, I am still in shock!
I could not believe it when I heard you have gone to be with the Lord.
The last time we spoke was on the 20th of September. Little did I know that was going to be the last time I would talk to you.
I remember the good times we had while teaching at Victory High. I am starting to believe the saying that good people don’t last. But my consolation is that you are resting in the bosom of the Lord!
Sleep on Aunty Bimbim, and my regards to my elder sister.
Rest on till we meet to part no more.
Mrs Ajisegiri-Abuja, Nigeria.

Sake, as we fondly called each other, it’s still hard to believe that you’re gone. We saw last in May 2018 during my mum’s burial. Never knew that would be the last time I’d set my eyes on you. Continue to rest in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ. May the Lord grant the entire family the fortitude to bear this loss. You’ll be sorely missed.

The news of Mrs. Bimbo Edwin demise was shocking and unbelievable. It's therefore a herculean task having to refer to you in the past, with this short tribute:

Mrs Edwin was a community mobilizer, always impacting our environment positively.
There are several projects she spear headed, especially roads, drainages, culverts, and bridges linking our estate to other communities. She was at a time the vice-chair of the CDA.

It is also noteworthy that her family
contributes significantly to these projects, and pays far above the minimum security levy.
As a brother/friend to the Edwins, we usually look forward to your unparalleled hospitality during our visits to your home. Making all efforts to satisfy us with various delicacies, with smiles and loving attitudes.

She was indeed a rare gem and the heavens have gained an angel. However, posterity will remember her for her philanthropy , humility, selfless service and good neighborliness.

Journey on Mrs. Abimbola Edwin, a great soul you were while on earth and your memory lingers.

May God grant my Brother V. E. Edwin, Bunmi, Solomon, Tega and indeed, the entire family and friends the fortitude to bear this loss..🙏
Ah Aunty Bimbo, the news of your demise shocked me and brought tears to my eyes . You were so loving and very selfless. You came all the way from America to attend my mum's funeral and support your friend my bigsis just last year. You supported all of us. You gave my younger sister a chance to cater at your daughter's wedding even though you had not tested her work before. You sent several bottles of water to support when my daughter was getting married. We had so many bottles left even after engagement and wedding. ! Oh aunty you left too soon ! Heaven has indeed gained a saint. Your legacies live on after you. You will be sorely missed by all of us your friends and family. We are consoled by the fact that you are definitely in a better place. I commiserate with your husband and children aunty. May your beautiful soul find rest in the bossom of your maker. Goodnight aunty Bimbo. Sleep on till the resurrection morning!.

I am tremendously saddened by the news of the passing of Bimbo, heaven has added an Angel.
Bimbo was such a kind person, always had a smile and a kind word to say at every situation. She was a joy to know.
I pray that that the Almighty God will bless the husband and children left behind and watch over them during this most difficult time. I know her memory will give you comfort and her legacy live through you all.

It has been very hard writing this because we couldn’t find the exact words to described our friendship and the feelings involved. It has been really difficult to comprehend that she is no longer with us.
We met Bimbo and her husband through Mr & Mrs. Kenny and Kunmi Dada many years ago. We immediately became friends and it was like love at first sight. We quickly embraced and warmed up to each other and over the years we got to know Bimbo and Edwin as a kind, loving and caring couple.
Bimbo was such an amazing woman full of life, very outgoing, always listening, giving the right advice, also a peacemaker.
Bimbo has made a lasting positive impact and impressions on our lives by making it rich with love, laughter, and profuse exuberant. We will always cherish the moments and the time that we spent together.
We know she is in a better place and we will forever love and miss her.

This is certainly one of the greatest shocks for my wife, our children & I. Totally unanticipated. Now I become more convinced that God in His Almightiness is peopling Eternity. Who are we to grudge HIM for taking from the best & the finest of His creation? Abimbola Edwin has accomplished for the Kingdom & gone to be with the Saints Triumphant. May the Lord rest her wonderful soul. May He grant strength & succour to our dearest friend & colleague, Victor, the children & to all of us who mourn & miss this great woman
