Abby's obituary
Abdul "Abby, Abad, Abba-dabba-doo" Rahman Sbat, aged 70, of Deering, NH, passed away in his home surrounded by family after his long battle with stage 4 Cancer on September 29, 2024. Born on January 20, 1954, Abby led a life marked by devotion to his family and a successful career in both sales and cosmetology.
Abby attended Nashua High School and further honed his skills at a Cosmetology Trade School. His professional journey included being a top-performing salesman at GULF Industries and owning multiple hair salons. His last venture was Abbey's Salon 170 in Deering, NH, it was a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit for over 20 years.
Beyond his professional achievements, Abby was a family man at heart. He was a loving husband to Cynthia (Hoover) Sbat for 40 years and a father to Fouad (Jon-dog) Sbat, Justin John Sbat, Jeffrey David Sbat, Abbey Marie Sbat and Corey M. Whitehill. His joy was multiplied by his four grandchildren: Elijah, Caleb, Chloe, and Gabriella.
Abby's family circle included his brothers Chris Sbat and his wife Kerry, Telly Sbat and Rhonda Mullins, and Ken Sbat and his wife Jaqueline, and his sisters Sue Lemay, Eman Rootovich and Jeff Piper, and Idah Snee, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and In-Laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fouad and Therese Sbat of Tripoli, Lebanon.
Abby's passions included the outdoors, vacations with his family, the ocean, and sports. An avid fan of horse racing, NASCAR, Patriots, Celtics, and the Red Sox, he also cherished cooking for family and friends, especially his famous spaghetti dinner and hummus. His home was a welcoming place where no one could leave hungry.
Abby's life was a vivid tapestry of dedication, love, and zest, profoundly touching all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and unyielding commitment to his loved ones, forever remembered in the hearts of his family and friends.
Abby's final wishes will be honored with a cremation and a memorial tree burial, reflecting his love for nature. Services will be held at Life Forest, 200 Beard Road, Hillsborough, NH, on October 11, 2024, at 1 PM.
