My brother, we think about you often. I try to emulate the way you always treated people - with warmth and a big smile!
I can’t drink a shot of Fireball without toasting to you and always use it as an opportunity to tell my friends about the incredible Aaron Hewitt!
We have a framed inscription of your “Monday Shark Quote” in our bar to always be reminded. You still make people laugh to this day!!
We love you and miss you dearly. I know heaven loves having you there!
Until then, we try to live each day like you did! Love you always my friend!

Hi
My name is Sam,
I met Aaron on June 5 at the pilgrims office in Saint Jean Pied de Port. We were waiting for the pilgrim office to open so that we could get our Camino passport. We shared our reason for walking the Camino. We had both seen the movie The Way. I could sense his excitement to get started and he mine. We met later in the day at the monastery in Romcesvalles and I asked him if he was going to mass. He did not know about the mass. We both went to mass and then I saw him the next morning as he was leaving. Sadly we never saw each other again. I have thought about him everyday since I heard of his passing. Such a kind, happy young man taken so young. I finished the Camino on July 6, almost a month after we met and lit a candle for him at the pilgrims mass at the Cathedral. I’m so sorry for your loss and even though I met him briefly I am happy we met.

Hi I'm Steven Pudelko. Aaron is my Uncle. I am so baffled by this. Aaron seemed to be in great shape to me. I just can't believe it that he's gone. Rest in Peace Uncle Aaron. Much Love

Dear Mrs. Hewitt,
I read about the loss of your husband in the Charlotte Obsever online. His story resonated with me not only for your loss but because my husband, Norm, who died of Covid last year, and I took a wonderful trip once by car along the pilgrim's route to Santiago. I remember that trip with both happiness and sadness.
I am so sorry for your loss. I know that people say that easily these days, but I am truly sorry. I have a real understanding of what you are going through. It sounds like Aaron was a wonderful man, and, like Don Quixote, he followed his dream. It is a tragedy that he died so young, but I have learned that it is not the length of a life that matters. It is the quality. Like you, I have wonderful memories of our life together. Those are sustaining.
In my thoughts,

Dear Amanda & Family ~
Please accept my heartfelt condolences in the tragic loss of an incredibly special man. I’m just heartbroken like so many others. I met Aaron through the hospital. I’d see him bebopping around the ORs with his cheek to cheek smile. He was full of energy, humor and just a fun guy all around! He had a real zest for life! He’ll be sadly missed.
Amanda~ there was something you wrote that’s stuck with me. Aaron passed right where he’d want to be. There’s a small bit of peace in remembering that…
Rest easy Aaron
