Planning a funeral in Laramie, WY

While you’ll only find one funeral home in Laramie, you’ll find several more options available to you if you consider working with a funeral home in nearby Fort Collins, Cheyenne, Wheatland and Estes Park.

Despite the large amount of available land, over two thirds of people in Wyoming are now cremated. Cremation is generally more affordable than burial and is considered more environmentally friendly, two factors that have helped drive a strong increase in cremation rates in recent years. Any of the funeral homes surrounding Laramie should be able to help you with a cremation. If you want to organize a memorial service or celebration of life on your own (or you don’t plan to hold a service), a direct cremation may be all you need from the funeral home.

If you’re interested in burying your loved one, there are a couple cemeteries in the area to choose from. You may want to visit both in advance to get a feel for where you’re most likely to return to to visit.

Because of limited options available to you locally, if you live in Laramie, it may be a good idea to go online to purchase a casket, urn or headstone. You’ll have a much wider selection of options, and prices are often much more favorable.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the funeral planning process, you may want to try our free funeral planner for guidance.
