I have 2 friends (married couple) who are in very bad health with no family support. They live in their own home here in New Bern. The husband has dementia, and 18% kidney function. He has had at least 2 strokes. The wife has very severe COPD, has infusions for a blood disorder for anemia and lack of immunity, raynaud syndrome, chronic UTI's, chronic bronchitis, and is very frail. How would they start the process for Palliative or Hospice care at home? The husband is fighting any attempts to go into rehab.
The wife is getting more and more frail and overwhelmed. Please advise as I am trying my best to help them as a dear friend.
