John Lesko, owner of Norwalk's longest established funeral home, located in the center of beautiful Historic Norwalk at 5 East Wall Street.
John is a fifth generation Funeral Director and is honored to provide his continued dedication to serving Norwalk and its surrounding communities. His family began their dedication to funeral service in 1909, when they transitioned from the livery providers of carriages and hearses, to becoming licensed funeral directors. With caring dedication, from father to son, teaching the next generation the professional and caring tradition of serving families at a time of need. We are humbled and proud to be the first Sixth Generation owned Funeral Home in Connecticut. John and his staff strive for excellence when providing service, comfort and care to families at a most difficult time.
We continue the tradition today of serving the city of Norwalk and its surrounding communities with only one goal in mind: To offer uncompromising, professional and dignified service to the families in which we serve, that is second to none.
While we are not able to lessen the burden of loss, we strive to make the services we offer personalized and meaningful. The families we serve are the ones that inform us of their requirements in terms of services and time frames; we do not take it upon ourselves to pressure the family with unwanted services and goods. We believe in treating others as we would want to be treated. Throughout the years, we have developed a high level of sensitivity to the religious, ethnic and economic circumstances of all the families we serve.

What is the funeral planning process generally like?
We believe that personalizing funerals is important. Funerals are to celebrate and reflect on your loved one’s life. That being said, our funeral home houses a casket selection room of the latest in technology. This selection room is state of the art and allows the family to create a casket for their loved one’s fitting tribute. Our firm offers the industry's highest quality caskets that are manufactured. We also offer a range of very simple caskets to the more elaborate, as we know this is a very personal choice. Many families think that a cremation can't be a traditional type of service with a wake, many of the families we serve also want to include a service for their friends and those who knew the deceased and we have a variety of options to choose from. We want you to know that every family has a choice of how they chose to memorialize their loved one. We will provide you with many options, based on your needs. Nothing is set in stone, your decisions, your choices, we are here for you.

Are there specific types of funerals that you specialize in?
For the past forty plus years it has been my honor and privilege to help families of Veterans and First Responders. I believe there is no greater sacrifice these people have given to our country, putting themselves out front to protect, serve and secure our freedom, or save a life that may be in peril. I recognize and have great appreciation knowing my family and I can rest well knowing there are such heroes on call for our safety.
Our dedication to Veterans and First Responders has no boundaries. We honor with the highest regard, the dedication and service of our Local Heroes. Whether at a local cemetery, Rocky Hill Veteran's Cemetery, Long Island National Cemetery or Arlington National Cemetery... No one has helped more families honor their Heroes.
