About Nightingale Crossings
As the founder of Nightingale Crossings, Lori Hatton serves as an End-of-Life Doula, Elder Care Consultant, and Advanced Care Planner, providing compassionate care to disarm the fear surrounding death, honor the process, and work towards a “good” death for her end-of-life clients. She is honored to be trusted in their advanced planning, elder care, and end-of-life support for themselves and their family members. Lori has received End-of-Life Doula Certifications from the Doulagivers Institute and the University of Vermont and Certifications in Elder Care and Advanced Care Consulting from the Doulagivers Institute. She is a member of the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance (NEDA) and is “NEDA Proficient”. She holds an M.B.A. from the University of Leuven, Belgium and a B.S. from Indiana University. She serves those residing in Evanston, Illinois, and nearby communities.

How much experience do you have in your field?
I have been providing services to the elderly since 2016 when I began working as a dog therapy volunteer at a senior living residence. In 2021, I expanded this service by becoming a hospice volunteer and certified end of life doula.

The average rate for end of life doulas in Chicago is $100/hour. The rate for advanced care planning and elder care support varies depending on the complexity and extent of the desired services.

I am honored to accompany clients through their advanced planning and end of life journey and am committed to ensuring the dying and their families feel safe, supported, respected, and cared for, allowing this time of transition to be one of love, peace, and closure.
