What's the process to purchase a plot like from Bluestem?
At Bluestem we realize different people wand different approaches to see if Bluestem is right for them. First, we are a nature preserve open to the public 365 days per year dawn to dusk for people to self explore and tour the property on their own. We also provide tours for the public for people to have a guided walk at Bluestem. Finally, we provide an opportunity for people to set up a one on one tour with our staff to see the property, answer questions and look at our conservation cemetery. One fills out an on-line form and can get a calendar invite and choose the day and time that works for them to visit the property.

What should people know about when visiting Bluestem?
Bluestem is a nature preserve with 3.5 miles of grassland and woodland trails. Please come visit any day, and walk and take in the sights and sounds of nature.
There is a parking lot open at the front with access to our trail network. -
What is the history of Bluestem?
Heidi Hannapel and Jeff Masten, both conservationists recognized the need for an alternative means of burial and a different type of cemetery. Bluestem is a nonprofit driven conservation cemetery open to support all families who seek a green burial. We opened in November 2022.

What sets you apart from other cemeteries?
We are the 13th conservation cemetery in the US. Our 87 acre nature preserve/cemetery provides a place for families to be in nature. One can leave a lasting legacy with each burial, conserving the property in perpetuity.
