My deep condolences to the family and near and dear for the untimely loss of such a down to earth human-being. May the Lord give mental strength to bear the unrepairable loss.
I'm so shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Zsolt's passing.  I only had the pleasure of interacting with him a few times, but he was always so helpful, so positive.  The world has lost a great hero, and he has left a brighter future for humanity because of his dedicated service!
I was very unhappy to hear this news. We talked often. We saw the same future. Much love to him, and his family.

The two daughters of Zsolt (Dorka and Bogi) organized in Szentendre on the 19th of April , 2023 a memorial event attended by family, friends, former colleagues. The speeches of his daughters, friend, colleague and his father…shared memories with Zsolt. We miss you very much dear Zsolt… your passion for the environment, your commitment for the future of planet, your great work, accomplishments will always stay with us….we will always remember you, rest in peace🙏🏻
Zolt. I will always associate him with REC where I met him many times. Kindness professionalism and openness with contacts. For me he was the foundation of this organization. What characterized him was passion in action but without exposing his person. During our many meetings I could feel the chemistry between us. Such people are passing away, but young people can learn from their experience, and so be it.
Although we didn't get to meet in person, from the other side of the world it felt like we had. Zsolt was generous in sharing his experience and knowledge as a fellow branch manager for The Climate Reality Project. Deepest condolences to his family and the many climate reality leaders and others who were close to him.

Zsolt, it’s been a week already but still we don’t realize that you’re gone…we’re all so sad… We took this picture six years ago during the COP23 in Bonn, where all the European Coordinators gathered to plan our strategy, network and attend one of Al Gore's famous speech… I remember it like yesterday : as always, you were the one organizing everything, making sure we were all on the same page, engaging our countries’ communities around one unique objective : protecting the climate. This was the reason you woke up in the morning, and we’ll remember you as human, professional and passionate about climate advocacy. We were lucky to share our volunteering work with you as our coordinator.

We were all #United4Climate then…but we are today united in sadness... But we can promise you we will always stay united to defend the good work you did, and that we’ll keep fighting.

I am shocked and deeply saddened by Zsolt's passing. It was only in October 2022 that we had a group dinner after the workshop in Prague. He was such a wonderful companion and storyteller! His legacy will stay with us. My deepest condolences to the family.
I met Zsolt when I did the Climate Reality Leadership Training. We were trying to activate members in Hungary since then. We worked together at the end of the year, tried to put together an event, but it was cancelled and rescheduled for spring 2023.  I called him few weeks ago, he promised to call me back in a few days. He hasn't since. I've thought about it so many times in the last two weeks, writing to him, ringing him to see what's up. He never does anything like not call or not write back. I'm so sorry I can't call him anymore, we can't talk.  The environmental profession owes him so much, here in Hungary and Europe as well. And he was such a special person with a huge heart. I will miss him very much. I would like to express my condolences to his family. Have a good trip, Zsolt.

I talked to Zsolt on the phone two weeks ago, and exchanged ideas on climate actions and maybe to meet up in Brussels soon or later. I recall last time he came to visit me at the office and motivated me to actively engage in communication campaigns with students. It is thanks to his encouragement that I got actively part of the Greenlight for Girls initiative as a teacher, and I am grateful for the opportunity I had to team-up with him on several projects. His good attitude towards others and sensible style reach the heart of people. He let me spent my time at the REC with the feeling of being part of a family. Zsolt was a true believer in making climate science and environmental justice channeled to anyone – beyond his daily work. Will miss you Zsolt! Stay reassured that your mission will continue with your network and friends.  My deepest condolences to dear Dorka, Bogi and the whole family.

Talking/motivating Albanian youth group about Climate Resilient Communities — with Mihallaq Qirjo

Preparing for the next youth event, my staff asked me to contact Zsolt for a video he used in the latest conference on Dec. 2022. So, I wrote to him that “he probably got some hick-up today, as we were mentioning him during the day”, as we say locally. But there was no answer, not even the next day, which was not normal. Knowing Zsolt for more than 16 years, I knew he would respond promptly. That wondering did not last long, … until that early afternoon.

It was a long journey working with Zsolt, moving together from being colleagues to friends. Me and my staff shared ideas, got support, enjoyed nice moments on trips … The collection of memories lists so many of them, events and activities, where his energy and positive attitude would build networks and connect people, especially about Talking Climate.

A good man and friend departed too early … and it is hard for many of us to accept it. Rest in peace dear friend Zsolt!

Sending big love and my deepe…
Sending big love and my deepest condolences to the Bauer family. I can’t believe I’m writing this. Zsolt was so encouraging and thoughtful and a truly dedicated climate activist. Incredibly supportive to Climate Reality Team UK for events at COP26 in Glasgow and guided every step of the COP27 forum in London; I even turned to him recently for advice (on autopilot) for current projects. He made the impossible, possible – I will miss him immensely. He enabled climate action, and in this critical time he is so needed. Rest in peace dear Zsolt ❤️
