Joe's obituary
We announce with profound sorrow the passing away of Zaurez "Joe" Hameedi, who departed this world on June 11, 2024. Born on August 6, 1972, in Lahore, Pakistan, Joe spent the majority of his childhood growing up in Northern Virginia and then as an adult made his home in Woodbridge, VA with his ex-wife and children.
Joe was a force not to be reckoned with. He was highly sociable, outgoing, and spirited - he never met a stranger. He was always ready to enjoy a gathering with friends and family - whether it be dressed up for a fundraiser gala, attending a hometown sporting event, or simply hanging out around the fire pit at home. He enjoyed traveling and did so often with his family. His favorite places to visit included Hawaii or European destinations and any theme park around the world. His giving and welcoming nature left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Joe's memory will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved him.
Joe is survived by and leaves a loving legacy to his four children - Adam, Zachary, Samuel, and Hannah and also his eldest daughter Bronwen. His children will forever carry forth his spirit. He also leaves behind and is survived by his ex-wife, Cambrey, with whom he shared 17 years of marriage and navigated many passages of life. Additional survivors include his father, Zahid Hameedi, his mother, Qamar Hameedi, his sister, Sitwat Annie Hameedi, and his brother, Jaudat Umar Hameedi, who all share in the grief of his loss.
"Coach Joe" was a dedicated volunteer of Prince William Soccer Incorporated and cherished his time coaching youth soccer. He was a well-known member of the Prince William County community where he enjoyed attending his children's sporting, academic, and extracurricular events.
In memory of Joe, and to support his children's future, a fundraising effort has been initiated for "A scholarship for Joe's children". While flowers may fade, the love and support for Joe's children will carry on through this scholarship, ensuring a lasting legacy. Donations can be made at everloved.com/life-of/zaurez-….
In these moments of loss and sadness, let us remember Joe - an extraordinary individual who lived with passion and enthusiasm, and brought warmth and happiness into the lives of those he met.
