Zachary Michael Pelchat completed his journey on Earth on December 14, 2022 after a bravely fought battle with brain cancer.

Zach was born April 16, 1985 in Baltimore, MD and raised in Haverford Township, PA. As a child, he was a joyful mix of class clown and gifted, curious student. Zach graduated from Haverford High School in 2003 and attended Carleton College and the University of Pennsylvania (BA in Philosophy, Magna cum Laude, 2007).

A life-long sports-fan and athlete, Zach especially enjoyed tennis and basketball. He was a trivia and history enthusiast, accomplished pianist, and had a knack for video, board, and card games. Zach was a gifted teacher, and tutored students on the LSATs for many years. He also used his strategic and statistical mind to support himself by playing poker.

Zach was a vibrant, non-conformist who had the courage to live his convictions. He was a nomad and traversed North America, picking up many wonderful friends in every corner of the continent.

Through it all he was funny, loving, and brilliant. He is survived by his parents, Marcia and Rodney Pelchat, his sister, Madeleine (Maddie) Pelchat and many devoted friends. His memory is a blessing to all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and he will be greatly missed.
