Zachary's obituary
Zachary Cornelius Davis, 67, of Los Angeles, CA unexpectedly passed on July 19, 2021we are still gathering information as to what happened at his apartment with the lights. His loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.
Zachary was born on April 21, 1953 to Wilhelmina Mary and Willie Davis, IV in New Orleans, LA. He dropped out of middle school. Zachary had a trouble childhood growing up, he was in and of jail from his teen years through adulthood. Finally in 2011 he decided he was through with street life forever.
Zachary early childhood begin in the projects in New Orleans he would get into fights even as a young boy. He like to play with fire. Once he and his younger brother was playing in the closet with fire and almost set the apartment on fire. He got seven whippings that day by mama, daddy. grandmother, nanny, uncle Julius, mama Subrita and Grandpa Willie. I laughed so hard when Zachary told me about this, I could believe he was in a closet with kerosene oil.
Like his childhood Zachary teen life wasn’t any better. He would run away from home so much and this last time, he ran away I guess mama had enough. She sent him and my oldest brother to live with dad. She had a parting gift for him before he lift, she was really nice to him give him some something to eat and then told him to go take his bath. Once mama thought he was in the tub she came in and whipped his butt good. That’s my big brother the protector of the family.
He was my protector. I remember we were coming back from a field trip in Chicago, ILL the bus had to let us off in gang territory. Zachary told me when we get off this bus run as fast as I can. We got off the bus my little six-year-old legs took off running as fast as they could, but I felled. One of the gang members was over me with a knife, I yelled for Zachary and was kicking like crazy. Zachary turned around came back got the guy off me pick me up like a football and took off running.
He was also my enforcer I remember I was elementary school in New Orleans and I would run home from school from this girl. It's not that I was scared of the girl I didn't want to get in trouble with mama. Zachary saw the girl was smaller then I was and he told me if he see me running from that girl again he was going to whip me. I went to school the next day, the girl started with me I told her, my brother said if I don't fight you, he was going to fight me. So it's me and you and we started fighting. After I beat her up we became good friends until I left New Orleans and moved to Los Angeles. I was not going to have Zachary fight me.
Zachary Davis married Charlesetta Watkins, September 197? Zachary and Charlesetta did not parent any children. They separated approximately 2 years later. We learned the marriage was illegal - Reason it's best not to put his business out there. Written By: Wilhelmina Davis
Zachary didn't keep a stayed job because of being in and out of jail. He would get work when he come out loading trucks for different store owner he knew. We he was younger his hobby was lifting weights, watching cowboys and Indian movies, watching football and basketball. When he got older he could left the weights any more but boy did we have fun arguing over my LAKERS and what ever team they were playing. He wanted the Lakers to lose so bad especially if they played the Golden State Warriors. We would have some good time especially if the game was close.
Anyone who knew Zachary, knew that he was a funny, crazy, loving, wonderful guy who love talking about the Bible, and Jesus. Zachary also loved watching his western, football, and basketball. He would also call he baby sister whom he lovingly called chicken head.
