Bonnie's obituary
With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Yvonne "Bonnie" Osterhaus, affectionately known as Bonnie, who took her last breath on August 21, 2023. Born October 10, 1931, Bonnie lived a long and fruitful life, touching hearts and uplifting spirits along her journey.
Bonnie leaves behind her husband, Ronald Osterhaus, son, Keenan Goodwin, and sister, Charlotte Rice. Her children are Robert Reed, Ronald Reed, Randal Reed, and Russell "Chris" Reed. Her children, Richard Reed and Robin Reed preceded her in death. She was a rock, a beacon of love and support to her family. Bonnie's love extended to her children's art, which she held in the highest regard, among her favorite pieces of art that she displayed in her home.
Bonnie's joie de vivre was infectious. She was a woman of good taste, savored food and drinks like chips, green chili, and vanilla ice cream, and enjoyed a hearty breve latte and tequila. She found solace in the sounds of The Doors and derived pleasure from watching her favorite TV show, Dateline. Among her favored movies were Stephen King's adaptations, particularly "It."
She was youthful at heart, her personality radiating warmth, wit, and a lovingly happy spirit. She believed in living life to the fullest and imparted wisdom on patience, self-care, and making time for loved ones. Bonnie was an avid fan of Pictionary, and her favorite recreational activities were shopping, visiting the zoo, exploring museums, and enjoying time by the pool with her family. Her exercise routines varied from walking to rollerblading or biking.
She held a special place for Florida's beaches in her heart, her favorite vacation spot. Bonnie loved the color pink and firmly believed in the power of positivity and happiness. She was also a proud alumna, having graduated from Metro State College, and held great pride for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on August 26, 2023, from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM at 3691 Garland St. We invite those who knew and loved Bonnie to join us in remembering and celebrating her remarkable life.
True to her teachings, her legacy urges us all to enjoy life, cherish moments with family and friends, and keep her memory alive through shared stories and tales. She will be deeply missed, her absence creating a void that can never be filled. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
