How you can help
Our Mother, Yvonne Lowery Kennedy, was loved by many touching an immeasurable amount of lives in a most special, outstanding , unforgettable way. Her love of God and beauty, inside and out, made her a truly extraordinary person. We will love, cherish and miss her forever.
Like her parents, Dr Joseph E. Lowery & Dr. Evelyn Gibson Lowery, she was very active in Civil rights. Her exceptional civil service included empowering young black girls with professional and political goals, she succeeded her Mother as Board of Directors Chairman of the SCLC W.O.M.E.N. Inc., she was a true advocate for registering voters, she was the coordinator for the Evelyn Gibson Heritage Tour Birmingham location, and the Chairman for the Birmingham Metro Chapter of National Congress of Black Women.
From directing children's choirs to being a high school historic fraternity and sorority Mom she made an astronomical impact in the lives of many youth. She was a phenomenal woman with the singing voice of an angel and the heart, strength and soul of a goddess queen. Her legacy will live on through her five children and loved ones.
Thank you for your many expressions of sympathy during this time of immense loss. We hear you. We are incredibly grateful for everyone's love and support. Thank you again for all your love and prayers. Contribute
