Yolanda's obituary
Born in Americus, Georgia, on February 22, 1955, to Josie and Mose Butts, Yolanda Williams, also known to family as "Gradine," was the youngest of thirteen children. She grew up in a loving, close-knit family and carried that same love into every part of her life.
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, baptized on July 1, 1995, Yolanda lived with humility, compassion, and unwavering faith in Jehovah's promises. She was a devoted mother and is survived by Roshebra Wallace and her husband, Keon; and Joseph Wallace and his wife, Rebecca. She was a proud grandmother of eight: Ashley and her husband, Dre; Tanisha and her husband, Alex; Tierra; Keona; Isaiah; McKayla; Kailin; and Brianna; and a joyful great-grandmother of seven: Lj, Jordan, Zari, Anelia, Laila, Xavier, and Atanas. She is also survived by her beloved siblings: two sisters, Barbara Mathews and Louise Childs; one brother, Mose Butts Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Yolanda was especially proud of her career at Lockheed Martin, where she worked with dedication, excellence, and joy. Her work allowed her to see the world-spending time in Portugal, Morocco, England, and many other places she cherished. These experiences shaped her worldview, broadened her stories, and deepened her appreciation for life.
Yolanda's vibrant personality, warm presence, and radiant smile made every room brighter. She expressed her love through kindness, generosity, and the way she made everyone feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. She touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of joy, strength, and faith.
While she now rests in peaceful sleep, we hold comfort in Jehovah's promise of a resurrection-and the hope of seeing her beautiful smile once again.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3045 Poplar Rd., Sharpsburg, GA 30277.
