Yolanda's obituary
Yolanda Marie Guerra - Ellis, born September 8th, 1954 in Poteet, TX, peacefully took her last breath on February 8th, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She was born to the late Emilio Coy Guerra and Marie Cruz Gonzales Guerra Blocker. She was step daughter to the late Darvin Leroy Blocker.
Yolanda was the loving mother of Monique Ellis Folse Piazza (Luis) and Nichole Ellis. Yolanda was the proud grandmother of Destinee Folse, Landon Piazza, Logan Piazza, Lillee Piazza, Erik Ballew, Zackariah Ellis, and Carter Ellis. She was the sister of Dela Guerra, Mario Guerra, Samuel Guerra, and the late Sandra Guerra and Carlos Guerra. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Yolanda found immense joy in dedicating her free time to being with her daughters and beloved "grandbabies," relishing family gatherings that marked celebrations of life's joys. A passionate music enthusiast, she took delight in attending concerts and frequently seized the nearest object to engage in spontaneous sing-alongs to her favorite tunes. Yolanda's creative side shone through her love for crafting and decorating, infusing her surroundings with a personal touch. Her appreciation for life's simple pleasures was evident in her profound gratitude for small gifts, kind gestures, and the precious moments shared with family members. Yolanda's heartwarming gratitude reflected her deep understanding of the significance found in the meaningful aspects of life.
Yolanda will always be remembered for her great sense of humor; it could light up even the darkest room. She found solace in laughter and used it as a means to connect with others. "Yoli" was gullible in an adorable way, and a good sport when tricked or joked about with family. She had a beautiful smile and child like spirit.
Yolanda will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her surviving family and friends. May they find solace in knowing that Yolonda's love will continue to guide them through life.
