Yaritza “Yari” Velez, 58, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born November 14, 1966, Yari dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband of 23 years, Robert, and her three children Jailene, Juan and Tatiana.

Yaris greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment. Her homemade apple pies were legendary in the neighborhood, and her holiday gatherings were eagerly anticipated by family and friends alike. Yaris love for nurturing things was evident in her beautiful garden, which she lovingly tended for over two decades.

She is survived by her husband Robert, children Jailene, Juan, Tatiana, and four grandchildren. A celebration of Yaris life will be held on June 18, 2025, 9:00am at the Saint Anthony’s Church in Cicero IL preceding the funeral procession.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local food bank (22525 W Lockport St. Plainfield, IL), a cause so close to Yaritza’s heart that was included in her final will and testament. 

Any currency donations will go to her loving husband Robert and will directly aid in funeral costs. Feel free to send directly to Robert or place in the donation flower basket during the Memorial.
