Yang's obituary
Yang Su Lee passed away peacefully on January 21, 2022 at the age of 88 in Costa Mesa, Ca, in the loving care of her family. Born Nov 16, 1933 in Seoul, Korea to Ho Dai Chey and Bock Soon Han, Yang Su Chey immigrated to the United States after highschool. She met the love of her life, Lincoln Choongho Lee, when she arrived in the USA to attend college in Fresno, Ca. They were married on August 9, 1959 and lived happily together until Lincoln´s untimely death in 1991. Yang Su is survived by her children Susan (Soogie) Kang, Larry Lee, & Luanne Harvey; grandchildren Grayson, Grant, Sky, Jordan, Brynn, Ethan, Dante & Rex; brothers George and Myung Chey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A long time co-proprietor of Niles Drug Store, Lee´s Westchester Pharmacy, Mercy Plaza Pharmacy, and Lee´s Clinical Pharmacy, Yang Su lived most of her life in Bakersfield, Ca. She was beloved in the community and maintained great friendships throughout her life. She cared deeply about people and carefully nurtured her relationships, always knowing and remembering a remarkable number of acquaintances, which she could recall in amazing detail until the very end.
Yang Su was a devoted wife and mother. She was fiercely loyal and always displayed relentless energy and dedication to everything she did whether it be work, raising her family or playing golf, tennis or bridge. She always carried herself with aplomb and grace. Prominent in spirit, uncompromising and generous, Yang Su Lee lived life to its fullest and will be greatly missed.
A private funeral mass will be held for Yang Su Lee on March 1 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Irvine. On March 3, 2022, the memorial service/interment will be held at 3:00 PM (preceded by viewing at 2:30 PM) at Forest Lawn Memorial Park - Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Dr, Los Angeles, CA.
