Yanek Gruener, 88, of Krakow, Poland, passed away on April 06, 2017 of old age. Gruener adored being with his extended group of cousins, aunts and uncles and daydreamed of one day moving to America and becoming a movie star. However after the invasion of Poland, his childhood changed drastically. He lived to tell the story of how he persevered the wrath of Nazi Germany, surviving ten different concentration camps. Gruener eventually immigrated to America and did not go into the movies, however he joined the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War. Yanek Gruener was loved and cherished by many and will forever be remembered.
