Wojciech's obituary

Dr. Wojciech “Wojtek” Zolcik passed away suddenly, leaving a profound emptiness in the lives of those who knew and loved him. His loss is deeply felt by his devoted wife and soulmate, Krismichelle, and his children, Halinka, Keegan, and Kylin, who were the center of his world and his greatest pride.

Wojtek was a double board certified physician in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine, but to those he cared for, he was far more than his titles. He was a light in the darkest moments, offering compassion, understanding, and hope to thousands navigating mental health challenges. His work was not just a profession, it was a calling.  Krismichelle was his partner in both life and work, allowing him to help even more people.

Born in Poland, Wojtek carried his heritage with him always. His heart remained deeply tied to his Polish roots and family.  He often spoke of his summers working on an apple farm in Belsk with warmth and nostalgia. Those early experiences shaped the quiet strength, resilience, and strong work ethic that defined him.

At home, Wojtek was a loving and devoted husband and father. He embraced fatherhood fully, taking on more than a stepfather role, he was truly a Dad to Keegan and Kylin. He was both mother and father to his oldest daughter, Halinka, guiding her with unwavering love. He was endlessly proud of Halinka, Keegan, and Kylin, celebrating who they were and who they were becoming.

Wojtek found joy in life’s simple pleasures, coffee in the morning, sunshine on his face, time outdoors, reading, long walks, off roading adventures, and the companionship of animals; especially his beloved German Shepherd, Nanuk. He had an easy way about him, a warmth that made people feel at ease, and a sense of humor that brought laughter to colleagues and friends alike. His smile, with those unmistakable dimples, could light up any room.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerzy Zolcik and Gizela Zolcik, whom he loved deeply.

Wojtek’s heart was big, sometimes carrying more than most, but always with the intention of helping others. He gave freely of himself to his patients, his family, and his friends. He was deeply loved, and he will be missed beyond measure.

His sudden passing is a shock that leaves a space no one can fill. But in the lives he touched, the people he helped, and the family he cherished, his light will continue on.
