In their Point Cumana home, Wilma and Edwin brought up three children and helped raise five grandchildren. It was here, she, like Edwin before her, finished her life on earth. Family was front and center to Wilma. She worked hard and took good care of her children and grandchildren, and over the years, all lived with her in Point Cumana. She welcomed others to her family circle and supported all her children into adulthood and their families, along with “adopted” family members, she added along the way. When she saw a need, she stepped in to assist.
Strong-willed, organized, artistically talented, she was willing to freely give an opinion, which propelled Wilma in many ways. As a young girl, she was recognized at school as a top student in Art. Wilma was one of the founders and the treasurer of the Trinidad & Tobago Cosmetology Association for 18 years. She built and managed her own hairdressing business for about 50 years until retiring in her late 70s. She was a key contributor to the government's Best Village Programme for many years. Wilma was someone who kept moving; she never wasted a second. She was an excellent seamstress, designing and creating clothes for herself and others. She drew plans for home improvement projects and then supervised the workers to completion. Sometimes, she skipped the workers altogether and completed the entire project herself. Wilma was a fantastic cook. who developed recipes that fed family, friends, and visitors. Wilma skillfully used her time wisely on earth. She is probably whipping up stylish clothes and scrumptious meals for the angels and saints.
Wilma was a loving mother to many, a friend who could be depended upon, and a strong woman who positively influenced many lives. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and associates.
