Wilma's obituary
“After 80, every year without a headstone is a milestone!” — Sophia
Wilma (Willie) Rose Klecan (Spraggins) born November 26, 1928, age 94, of Olmsted Township, OH passed away in the early morning hours of September 30, 2023, peacefully on her own terms, in her own bed and in her own home. She was resting beautifully when she was lifted to heaven.
Wilma loved her family and was a wonderful caretaker. She retired from NASA daycare just to go back to work at Harmony Preschool in Brunswick. She left there to care for more of her family’s children in her home. A true testament to loving and taking care of others.
While sewing, crocheting, and knitting, she liked to tell you stories that she was a “dog-trainer.” She had a very active imagination. Macular Degeneration took most of her eyesight a few years ago, so she used her hands instead, still making the brightest, most beautiful home-made gifts. Her sewing and crafting hobbies were a main stay up until several days before she passed.
Never complaining of really anything, Wilma was resilient, independent, and had a strong will to live, always wanting to be included in the family gatherings. Wilma was a simple woman and never complained, only wanted to give. She was our favorite “Golden Girl” and will be missed immensely.
Beloved Wife of the late James F Klecan. Cherished sister of the late Jean Mamot.
Loving Mother of Kathryn (Carl) Roach, Susan (Barry) Simon, Gregory (Christy) Klecan and Karen Cirino.
Dearest Grandmother of Laura Gorczyca, Steven Roach, Jennifer Roach, Elizabeth Simon, Edward Simon, Melissa Klecan, Gregory Klecan Jr., and Antoinette Cirino.
Great Grandmother of Gavan, Sean, Kaylie, Savannah, Mary Jane, Hailey, and Orion.
Wilma was also a cousin, Aunt, Great Aunt, and Friend to many!
A quaint service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 30 N. Main St. Rittman, OH 44270 on October 20, 2023, at 9:45 AM.
