My roommate til his passing, loved him like a brother,
Chef Getchell was on of my favorite instructors at Scottsdale culinary. A very carving, kind, funny and extremely talented man and instructor. What he taught me made me a better person and employee. Things that he told me in passing are still influencing my day to day life. Not just things about food but about life. I thank God that I was lucky enough to be one of His students. Thank You chef Getchell
The world lost a great man. I always enjoyed working and talking with Willis. He truly loved being an educator and he made everyone else around him better.

I was very fortunate to work with him when he ran one of our culinary programs at Cactus High School years ago.  What a caring and passionate man!  You will be missed.  My condolences and prayers are with the family.

The Dettorre family would like to send our condolences to Chef Willis’s family in this time of sorry May he RIP

Chef Getchell was an amazing teacher. He inspired all of his student to learn and made all classes very enjoyable. He truly was amazing. He will be missed terribly! Rest In Peace chef Getchell.🙏
Im sorry to hear of Willis s passing. I would see Willis at Chef meetings. When I was the Executive Chef at the Vee Quiva Casino , I was invited to Cordon Bleu , where Willis was the instructor for two of my cooks. I realized then. I thought it was difficult to operate a commercial kitchen. But to instruct 20-25 culinary students and to keep their attention as well as keep them on their toes for 2-3 hours. That is a talent in itself .
