Background
Willie Cheatham retired from the United States Army after serving more than 20 years and rising to the rank of Master Sergeant (E-8). Alongside his fellow Airborne & Special Operations soldiers, he stood fast and defended the nation in times of peace and times of war, receiving a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his dedication and bravery in the Vietnam War. The family would like to honor his memory with a lasting legacy for generations to come. Donations will be used to purchase a monument in his honor outside of the Airborne & Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville, NC, his adopted hometown for over 50 years.
Funds are being collected and disbursed by Ira Cheatham.
