William's obituary

William Wickham Obituary

Jerry was born and raised in Bardstown, Kentucky to parents Ellen Mary (nee Pratt) and Robert "Mr. Bob" Wickham on August 21, 1940. He married his sweetheart Barbara 56 years ago this August and they raised their family of three children in Oxford, Ohio. Though he made his final home in Oxford, he would remain a loyal and devout Kentucky Wildcats fan, and always considered Kentucky home.

He attended the University of Kentucky and was a United States Veteran who served proudly in the US Coast Guard and passed his love of the ocean to his children. Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina was a home away from home for he and Barbara, and holds many special memories for their children. Back home in Oxford, Jerry spent his career with Square D, was an active member of the community, a longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and a devoted volunteer for McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital. The Catholic Church and its ministries served as a cornerstone to his life, and he had been a faithful giver of his time to St. Vincent de Paul, and later FONIN, for many years. More than anything, Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Family was everything to Jerry, and he was everything to them.

Jerry is the beloved husband of Barbara (nee Hutchison) Wickham; devoted father of Bill Wickham, Tim (Diane) Wickham and Kate Bergan; cherished grandfather of Delilah Wickham, Rachel Bergan, Davis Wickham, Lane Bergan and Lincoln Wickham, and loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Jane Wickham, brother Jim Wickham and sister Annis Noe.

Services for Jerry will be held at a later date. Please check back for future details. Donations in Jerry's honor may be made to the McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital Foundation.
