William's obituary
Bill enjoyed his work, which was based on precision and interpretation of the tax law, publishing a semi-annual newsletter on the latest developments for his clients. He was known for his succession of standard poodles, which he adopted once their show careers and breeding were behind them. He trained his regal dogs to exact standards, and each in turn, was always at his side.
Bill had a passion for rag time jazz, enjoying listening to his extensive collection and attending the West Coast Rag Time Festival annually. He was a pilot, volunteering to fly Doctors without Boarders into remote areas. He was an officer for Toastmasters, working hard to hone his public speaking skills. He came from one of the founding vintner families of southern California, and enjoyed and collected wine, even participating in ownership of Veerdercrest, when it was a start-up vineyard.
A photographer throughout his life, Bill documented his travels by creating slides. His latest trip was to Argentina, Columbia, Equator and the Galapagos Islands. Following his desires, his family have scattered his ashes at sea. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Doctors Without Borders.
