I had the privilege of staying at Bill’s house with Emma the summer before our junior year of college. He was an amazing chef, always had a twinkle in his eye, and - probably most memorably - loved Emma more than anything. We were pretty big improvisers at the time and at the way Bill got a kick out of emma it was clear how much humor they shared. When we were saying goodbye- his eyes were filled with tears as he bid Emma farewell. He could barely keep it together- but I’ll never forget that with the straightest face he could muster - he told me: “You’re a really nice girl.” This made us laugh; but that memory has brought me to tears more often than just as of late.

He will be missed forever ♥️

Dear Ayla and Emma - thinking of you and all of your father’s loved ones.

I was very sad when I heard the news of Bill's passing. Grew up with him but lost track decades ago. We spent a lot of time at the Philadelphia Cricket Club together. Fond memories I knew Muffy and Annabelle. I passed the news along to Tommy Mikell whom I talk to weekly. Would love to catch up with anyone interested. phone is 314-971-2245 and email is mittensauce7@gmail.com

Dear Ayla and Emma, I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad was a big part of our lives down here in Rhode Island and will be dearly missed. He was loved like a brother

A great fellow chef. Always loved his food.
