Bill and Ginger grew up in Denver, attending East High School and the University of Colorado in Boulder. They married in 1955 in Panama, where Bill was stationed in the army.
As a lawyer, Bill served with distinction in many professional organizations. He was President of the Colorado Bar Association, President of the Denver Bar Association, President of the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association and a co-founder of the Thursday Night Bar, (now Metro Volunteer Lawyers), an organization that has provided free legal services to thousands. He was appointed as a state District Court Judge in 1989, serving in the First Judicial District for ten years, before retiring in 1999.
Bill and Ginger attended St. John’s Cathedral in Denver. Ginger volunteered with the annual church bazaar and with the Colorado Classic Horse Show. Bill was always the first to point out that his achievements as a lawyer and a judge were due to Ginger’s steadfast support. She created a home that was full of love, beauty, humor, respect and predictability, a home which enabled their children to be successful in their careers and in their own families.
Ginger and Bill traveled extensively in their retirement, particularly enjoying the museums and countryside of Europe. Bill was an avid photographer and Ginger archived their life in a rich collection of family albums.
Contributions in their memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the American Heart Association, or Rocky Mountain Planned Parenthood.
