William (“Bill”) Jennings Upton was born March 16, 1959 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He was the youngest son of James Upton and Doris Upton (née Fraley), with siblings LuAnn (William) Leonard and Richard Upton.

Bill married Dorothy DeNault on December 23, 1976. Bill and Dorothy grew up in the same neighborhood, and got together teenagers. Bill and Dorothy remained married until 2003. They have three adult children: Jason (Jamie), Scott (Rita), and Erin (Alex). They …
