William's obituary
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Margaret; his daughter, Laura James (Carl); granddaughter, Annabella; and brother, Paul. He also leaves behind his father-in-law, Raymond Planekowsky; sisters-in-law, Jeannette Schwarz (Herb) and Linda Planekowsky; and nephew Don Schwarz (Sandy), as well as many other extended family and dear friends.
Bill grew up in Berwyn. After serving in the Navy, he lived overseas for several years where he and Margaret adopted their daughter, Laura, in Korea. He moved to New Jersey in 1994, but returned to his hometown of Berwyn in 2000.
He was an avid sports fan. His favorite past time was watching any football game on Sunday, but especially the Bears. He enjoyed playing football himself in his youth. He later played softball with his company's team. He also enjoyed a round of golf with his friends, although he admittedly was not the greatest golfer.
Bill enjoyed old-time radio and amassed a huge collection of audio cassettes. He could often be found working on the weekends listening to his tapes. He enjoyed working and never wanted to retire. He was once quoted at the age of 62 saying that he hoped that he would be able to work for another 10 or 11 years. He met that goal and more.
A memorial will be planned at a later date.
