William Mason "Bill" Russ Jr., 75, of Raleigh, MS, passed away on April 12, 2024 at his residence. He was a Marine and a Vietnam Veteran, serving proudly in 1969 in DaNang and Quang Nam Province. Bill was a former Mechanical Foreman at Kleen Steel and was highly respected for his work ethic and dedication.
He was a very kind-hearted and loving man, deeply cherished by all who knew him. Bill's hobbies included cooking, working in the yard, camping, and spending time with his family. He was a devoted member of Salem Baptist Church and Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Brantley; fiance, Linda Lambert of 15 years; grandsons, Mason Brantley and Russ Simmons; step-children, Patricia Ware (Tim), Brenda Hester (Dale), Larry Lambert (Lori) Kim Lambert; step-grandchildren, Kimberly Varner (Jason), Brandon Hester (Mechelle), Jessica Thompson (Charlie), Chasity King (Anthony), Shane Lambert (Maggie), Colby Lambert (Haley), Dustin Lambert (Kemberly); step-great-grandchildren, Kristin, Dalton, Justin, Ethan, Peyton, Jordyn, Annie, Luke, Georgia, Jace, Jacob, Bella, Gabby, Rylee Grace, Declan; step great-great-grandchildren, Knox.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Mason Russ; mother, Sally Cornelia Brown; his wife of 38 years, Judy Burks Russ; and step-son Steve Lambert.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 5:00 until 8:00 at Salem Baptist Church in Raleigh, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Salem Baptist Church in Raleigh, Mississippi. The burial will follow in Dennistown Cemetery, Mt. Olive, MS. Bro. Stevie Hand and Bro. Shane Lambert will officiate the services. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh is in charge of arrangements.
Salem Baptist Church in Raleigh, Mississippi, will be assisting with the funeral arrangements. Bill will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
