William F. “Bill” Roland, 68, of Arden, NC passed away on April 12, 2024 after an unexpected heart attack.
Bill was an Investment Advisor with Cambridge Investment Services.
Bill was born on February 16, 1956 in Topeka, KS to Russ Roland and Kay Mulvaney Roland Allen.
Bill graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1974. He then earned a BA in Economics from Mercer University in 1980.
Bill was an avid sportsman. Golf in his younger years, then followed the passion his dad had for driving cars in SCCA road racing. Bill was a lifelong skier having learned as a child in Massachusetts when his dad was stationed there.
Bill took his kids skiing to Sugar Mountain, NC, Snowshoe, WV and Colorado. He was a member of the Asheville Ski Club and took his son Rusty to ski Nastar in Beaver Creek, CO. He bought the family a little houseboat on Fontana Lake, where the kids were raised on the weekends and Summers.
He was a great family man, dad and husband.
Bill was pre deceased by his daughters, Katie Roland Brookshire and Shawnie Roland, his parents, his grandparents William McClellan and Lucy Roland, and Frank and Kathryn Mulvaney.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Pam Mulholland Roland, his son, Rusty Roland and wife Alison, grandson Kasey and granddaughter Mia. And son in law, Patrick Brookshire. And his brother Bobby and wife Leslie, several in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins in the DFW metroplex of Texas, North Carolina and Kentucky .
Bill’s Celebration of Life service will be Saturday May 4, 2024 at 2:30 pm at
Skyland United Methodist Church

Bill was an organ donor per his wishes.
