What I remember most about Bill was his kindness. If we would stop over for a fundraiser with one of our girls, he would never say no. Not only that he would invite us in and he liked to ask questions about how the family was doing. He fit in so well with this friendly neighborhood!
It's difficult to sum up years of friendship in a few lines. I've known Bill since 1973. We worked together for nearly 25 years and being the talented and resourceful individual he was I always found him helpful when it came time for advice on a home repair or remodeling project or car repair. He was good at all the above and more.
I especially remember one company golf outing with him. We shared a cart and were waiting on the tee for some of our slower playing employees to tee off. One individual, known for his short fuse, was on the tee , taking forever to hit. When he finally did, he shanked it into the bushes. Everyone was quiet, except me. For some reason I had chosen that moment to ask the guy what club he had used. That was enough for Bill to break out laughing hilariously. Forty years later, it still made him laugh. After he moved to Wisconsin I tried to make it a point to call him every few weeks to catch up. I always enjoyed my conversations with him and still asked for his advice on repair problems. To say that I will miss him is an understatement.
Rest in peace my friend.
We have enjoyed Bill as a neighbor and good friend for over 2 decades. Will always remember Christmas caroling in his house. He had a deep love for his family, his dogs and life. Our deepest sympathies to you and Hannah.
