I met Bill while working as a young Golf Professional at Seaton Golf Club in Pickering in the mid 1980's. Bill was doing some promotional work for Labatt at the time and helping out with charity golf events. He was such a generous man, always going the extra mile to ensure we had extra prizes for events and sharing some of his never ending stories about life as a hockey player, coach, firefighter etc...He and Mary Lu followed me from course to course during my career to play a little golf and "catch up" and I will always cherish their friendship. Condolences to the Purcell family.
